Quality Control Technician

Our client specialises in the development, manufacture and distribution of ceramic tile adhesives, grouts, silicone sealants and ancillary products for a wide range of applications.

Our clients main activities are based in Stoke-on-Trent in the UK. The UK activities comprise R&D facilities, administrative centre and UK manufacturing activities.

Our client is the market leader in the UK professional tiling market and renowned for its stringent product quality and excellent technical and training services, whilst our client offers a comprehensive range of tiling products for a wide spectrum of building applications which are distributed through the merchant sector.

We are looking for a scientist to join our Quality Control team. After initial training, the successful candidate must be available to work the following shifts:

  • 8am-4pm
  • 6am-2pm
  • 2pm-10pm
  • 10pm-6am
Also, there may be a requirement to work overtime on weekends (6am-12noon) on a rota basis. It is anticipated that initial training will take 8-12 weeks.

The key activities of the Quality Control Technician will be:

  • Testing raw materials and finished goods in accordance with defined test schedules.
  • Provision of support for Improvement Projects.
  • Analytical and testing support to identify causes of both internal non-conformance and customer complaints, and identification of corrective actions which may be required.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Prioritising and conducting testing according to the requirements of dispatch and incoming raw materials.
  • Actively seeking improvements to test methods.
  • Assisting in the development/amendment of current procedures.
  • Maintaining QC shift cover as required.


    8am-4pm £18,000 per annum

    6am-2pm/2pm-10pm £18,000 per annum + 15% shift allowance

    10pm-6am £18,000 per annum + 33% shift allowance

    Overtime rates are applicable to weekend working.
