Head Cook - Gastro style food outlet in Education Unit - Egham

Head Chef needed to work on an education site, based in a gastro style environment - Egham, Surrey. This would be a great opportunity for a Sous chef looking to step up.

You'll be catering on a busy site for students, working 5/7 days, straight shifts, weekend work is expected. Your contracted hours will be 40 per week. Salary is up to £26,059.

The site gives great benefits and an enjoyable working environment, with room for progression and development with menu's etc.


Main duties and responsibilities of the Head Chef - Egham

Manage and deliver all catering services within the catering outlet, with the help from the catering Manager.
  • To prepare food for service with a focus on high standards of presentation, quality and portion control.
  • To develop seasonal menus
  • To negotiate with suppliers
  • To ensure all food production and storage areas within the venue are maintained
  • Assist the Trading Services team with the coordination of special functions and projects as may be requested.
  • Manage people and activities
  • Take responsibility for health & safety within their teams.

What you need to be successful in the Head Chef role - Egham
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Team player, self-motivated, proactive, flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate and manage interpersonal relationships, including influencing skills.
  • A friendly and personable nature is paramount to this role, as you will be conversing with residents regularly. These are your customers.
