An opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join a large retail chain based in Boldon, Tyne and Wear.

Working part-time, you must be fully flexible across Monday to Sunday and able to work evenings, bank holidays and weekends. The hours of work are part-time and you will receive set shifts to work each week.

This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain permanent employment. Initially, the position will be temporary for 12 weeks and on successful completion of the probation period and for the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to be taken on permanent.

We are looking for candidates who possess a friendly personality and can be respectful to customers at all times, ensuring customer expectations and needs are met to satisfaction. You must be a team-player and proactively use your skills to up-sell at every opportunity, supporting sales driven targets.

Responsibilities:

-To inspire our customers and to achieve maximum sales
-Keep your product knowledge up to date innovation is a core value
-Ensure all products are produced to a high standard with care and attention to the detail
-Help maximise sales and customer satisfaction by stock replenishment ensuring all products and services are available. Ensure customers are aware of our promotions by being aware yourself
-Resolve customer complaints either by yourself or decide if it is an issue for your manager to deal with. The way in you handle a complaint could be the reason a customer comes back to us.
-Use store equipment in line with Health & Safety procedures and policy
-Accountable for a clean, tidy work space at all times.
-Be able to communicate effectively with the retail team, other local Centres and Head Office for the following:
  • All relevant health and safety policy and procedures, including reporting any hazards COSHH.

  • Promote and comply with our environmental management systems

  • This list is not exhaustive and any other additional duties required due to the needs of the business

  • Great customer feedback

  • 100% attendance record

  • Increasing sales through up-selling and promoting special offers to our customers and ensure customer satisfaction is met

  • Be proficient in the use of systems and cash handing procedures.

Other Specific Requirements

  • Keep confidential any company business or statistics

  • Follow policies and procedures including copyright and customer confidentiality

  • A Flexible approach is needed with availability to work weekends, bank holidays and late nights up to 8 pm, if required.

  • Maintain positive representation and promotion of the brand image at all times.
