Head Chef - Salary up to £27,397 per annum - Restaurant - Work Life Balance



Location: Winchester



The Role:



Our Client is an established name in the Catering Industry and have a fantastic opportunity as a Head Chef which has arisen as a result of internal promotions and a restructure of the Catering Team.



Our Client is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and experienced chef to run their busy restaurant kitchen which provides breakfast and lunch for onsite employees as well as hot and cold working lunches. You will also work alongside their executive chef on larger events including corporate and private functions.



Great tasting food which is well presented is a must, as their high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. With proven experience of running your own section in a professional kitchen you will have demonstrated an ability to organise and plan your own work and that of others and have an understanding of budgeting and financial management.



You will work well under pressure, deal calmly with unexpected situations and be passionate about food and developing people.



Contracted to 37 hours per week, Straight Shifts, Monday to Friday predominantly with occasional evening and weekend work. Giving you a work life balance.



Duties include:



  • Prepare and cook meals to the required standard.


  • Hands on management of the Back of house team.


  • Menu planning / costing of weekly menus and small functions.


  • Strict stock control and ordering of sufficient food items to meet demand.


  • Health and safety / food safety. Ensure and maintain high standards of Health and safety and food safety with in the main kitchen, food service counter and store rooms.
