How much: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum

Daily tasks

Reporting to the Operations director, as the Engineering Supervisor you will be required to lead a small team of engineering craftsmen to provide maintenance, breakdown and repair services to the glass processing equipment. You will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Support process development & production teams within a mixed environment of technical & traditional manufacturing equipment

  • Ensure any faults of an electrical & mechanical nature are identified during breakdowns and rectify these by coordinating with other trade disciplines
    Maintain all mechanical engineering equipment

  • Control & calibration of in house gauge tools & gauge database.

  • Construction / repair of production tooling, jigs & fixtures

  • Supply "hands on" assistance to the engineering team as required

  • Ensure site facilities are monitored & maintained accordingly

  • Ensure all work undertaken is in line with factory safety polices

Experience and qualifications required:

  • Apprentice within Mechanical Engineering

  • Previous Supervisory experience

  • Proven experience of developing teams

  • Pro-active, hands on attitude to maintenance issues

  • Logical approach to fault finding / diagnostic's

  • Knowledge of electrics

  • Simple PLC programing an advantage

  • Experience in lean tools will also be beneficial - SMED, six sigma etc.

  • CAD experience an advantage
