An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Shop Manager to support The Manager in a charity retail organisation. This will initially be a role for 6 months, covering a secondment, however if the secondment is successful this this will become a permanent opportunity.

By assisting the shop manager you will ensure efficient and effective management of staff, premises and stock to provide a high quality retail service in relation to financial and performance targets.

To deputise in the shop managers abesence, undertaking all appropriate duties to ensure the continued operation of the shop.

This retail outlet is based in Glasgow City Centre.

Duties:

Work with the shop manager to maximise shop performance and achieve targets.
promote gift aid to customers and sign up donors to enhance shop income.
As required, hold shop keys, opening and closing the premises.
Assist with the moving and replenishment of stock.
Moving, handling and rotation of stock.
Generate stock donations to meet sales enquiries.
WEnsure that the premises are clean and tidy at all times.
Merchandise and display of stock.


Skills:

Strong organisation skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven supervisory skills.
Previous experience within the charitable sector would be advantageous.
Previous retail experience essential.
Experience in stock control procedures.
Committed to working along side volunteers.
Ability to show Empathy to others.
